ABOUT TAILOR EMPOWERMENT & SZERA HOUSE
Tailor Empowerment (TE) is a foundation dedicated to elevating the living circumstances of disadvantaged communities, founded by the founder of The Tailor Network. TE runs a job skills training program that works with Szera House (Hungary), a transition home for families on the brink of homelessness.
Through December 2019 we want to additionally support Szera House and their residents to celebrate the holidays with dignity and joy. Szera House has over 50 families in residence, with about 118 children.
The reason we have launched this charity drive: We know that providing adults access to training programs and work opportunities is not enough. Children from families with a low educational background start with a disadvantage in school. Breaking the cycle of poverty needs to include a holistic approach that also includes supporting the children.
This charity drive addresses the learning difficulties that many families face. If we can sell 75 jackets or suits, we will be able to sponsor a dedicated social worker to help Szera House families with challenges around learning/education.
